Abstract

Two 1849 letters from Annie Henderson reporting on her travel from Willoughby, Ohio to Elkhorn, Wis. via the Great Lakes, and her new job as a schoolteacher in nearby Geneva Township; and two 1863 letters to Annie from her sister Jennette, describing her life in Norfolk, Virginia with her husband, Adjutant Chipman A. Holley, 19th Regiment Wisconsin Infantry, part of the Union forces occupying the city.
